At the University of Nevada, Reno, I was brought on to lead digital engagement for over 25,000 students through the Office of Student Affairs. I managed content across Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, and introduced campaign structures tied to student life and campus events. One of the most impactful initiatives I helped launch was the Biggest Little Festival — a student-focused music event during Welcome Back Week that drove a 70% boost in student engagement and added over 5,000 new followers to our digital platforms.
Outside of digital marketing, I was also the head of the sports section at The Nevada Sagebrush, UNR’s student-run newspaper. My specialty was long-form profiles, and it became an early foundation for my love of storytelling. One of my most recognized articles, The Wolf of Virginia Street, profiled NCAA point guard Marqueze Coleman. My story not only earned praise from former ESPN analysts Paul Mitchell and Guy Clifton, but was nominated for scholarship for The Boston Globe.
In addition to my creative work, I served as Senator of the Reynolds School of Journalism, where I advocated for student needs in university policy and budget meetings. During my term, I led a successful campus-wide initiative to install free feminine hygiene products in every women’s restroom — improving accessibility and wellness support across campus. I also contributed to strategic outreach efforts designed to attract and engage new students.
